Caps United closed in on log leaders FC Platinum following a 2-1 victory over Highlanders in a high tempo encounter at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
Makepekepe were quick off the blocks with Dominic Chungwa’s close-range effort saved by Ariel Sibanda from point-blank range.

Caps United could have extended their lead after the half time break but Clive Rupiya fired wide with the goal at his mercy. There would be controversy in the 83rd minute after Highlanders were denied by the woodwork but Bosso players argued the ball had crossed the line.
Bosso could have salvaged a point at the death when substitute MacClive Phiri fired wide in a contest which would end in a 2-1 victory for Caps United.
In other encounters in the premiership, FC Platinum dropped valuable points after succumbing to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Triangle at Gibbo Stadium.
Dynamos and Hwange were involved in a 2-2 stalemate at the colliery as Mushowani Stars edged Ngezi Platinum 1-0.
Herentals got the better of ZPC Kariba after a 1-0 victory in today’s (Sunday) another encounter.
