Makepekepe were quick off the blocks with Dominic Chungwa’s close-range effort saved by Ariel Sibanda from point-blank range.

Despite the Green Machine’s early chance Highlanders would, however, open the scoring in the 9th minute when Prince Dube picked out Ray Lunga who gave the visitors an early lead.

It, however, took the Green Machine only 4 minutes to restore parity with a well-positioned Kelvin Ndebele capitalizing on a rebound which sparked wild celebrations among Makepekepe faithful.

Bosso could have regained the lead courtesy of Prince Dube who broke loose only to shoot straight at Prosper Chigumba in goals for Caps United.

The Bulawayo giants would rue the missed opportunity with Clive Rupiya producing a stunning curled effort which Ariel Sibanda had no answers for as the hosts headed to half time carrying a 2-1 lead.

Caps United could have extended their lead after the half time break but Clive Rupiya fired wide with the goal at his mercy. There would be controversy in the 83rd minute after Highlanders were denied by the woodwork but Bosso players argued the ball had crossed the line.

Bosso could have salvaged a point at the death when substitute MacClive Phiri fired wide in a contest which would end in a 2-1 victory for Caps United.

In other encounters in the premiership, FC Platinum dropped valuable points after succumbing to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Triangle at Gibbo Stadium.

Dynamos and Hwange were involved in a 2-2 stalemate at the colliery as Mushowani Stars edged Ngezi Platinum 1-0.

Herentals got the better of ZPC Kariba after a 1-0 victory in today’s (Sunday) another encounter.
