ZIFA tried to field a local club as Mighty Warriors boycotted match.

Zimbabwe Football Association, local football managing board reportedly wanted to field a local club in place of Mighty Warriors who had boycotted the Olympics qualifier match against Shepolopolo of Zambia.

The match was called off 30 minutes before kick-off at the National Sports Stadium after clubs of Mighty Warriors players withdrew their players.

Players had complained about outstanding allowances. ZIFA criticised the players for being unpatriotic and only putting money first.

The criticism comes after Mighty Warriors coach, Sithethelelwe Sibanda previously criticised ZIFA for not availing resources needed to prepare for the first leg match against Zambia.
